The movie “A dog’s purpose” explains us the life of a dog as a way to understand how it is possible for these amazing animals to be capable to do whatever it takes to make us love them. This idea may be taken from the cynical philosophers that taught us that to live a natural life, to be ourselves without too much rationalization, we will live a happy life, like a dog. The main proposal is that dogs are able to reincarnate until they have achived their purpose: to be needed.
Bailey: I had a purpose, I was needed again and again and again. With each new life I was learning a new lesson.
The movie shows us that dogs are there as a way of service to humankind, and this is not as “tools”, but as teachers. Dogs teach us to love unconditionaly; no matter how we feel or what are we thinking, they are always there. We can train them to be more “civilized”, but their unconditional support is always there. They have a sense to know if we are feeling sad or happy, they are able to recognize our feeling and simply accompany us.

Everyone who has a dog has experienced this loyal behaviour towards us. To love is to be there when needed, to act according to the circumstances, and to behave at our best. Perhaps the movie talks about reincarnation as a way we can understand how it is that a dog is so loving. To live so many lives without learning anything because our mind is being erased with each dead, is futile to grow. Conversely, to die over and over again but keeping all our knowledge will allow us to live in a better world.

We can do what we can, not as a dog but in the areas we can and mean it:

- Live in the present, the past is over and the future hasn’t come.
- Be here, right now, live in the moment.
